The Municipality of Pienza, in compliance with the principles established by EU Regulation no. 2016/679 concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and the free movement of such data, offers users the opportunity to interact with its website to consult or use the relative services, accessible through the following address https://www.consorzioterrecablate.it/, which serves as the home page of the official website of the Municipality of Pienza.

In addition to describing the management methods of the website, the purpose of this page – pursuant to Article 13 of the aforementioned “Regulation” – is to inform users who connect to the Municipality of Pienza’s portal, also regarding the processing of personal data and the related guarantees recognised by law.

This privacy notice is provided exclusively for the Municipality of Pienza’s website and not for other websites that the user may access via links.

Purpose of the data processing and legal basis

Personal data will be processed in relation to the services offered by the Municipality of Pienza through its website, exclusively for purposes that fall within the institutional duties of the Administration and are of public interest, or to comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
Within the scope of these purposes, the processing also includes data relating to subscriptions/registrations on the portal, necessary for managing relationships with the Municipality of Pienza, as well as to enable effective institutional communication and to fulfil any legal, regulatory or contractual obligations.

Place and method of processing

The processing of data linked to the website’s web services takes place primarily at the Municipality of Pienza and, where applicable, with the collaboration of other parties specifically designated as data processors. Data processing is carried out for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes, including through the use of automated tools, while observing security measures aimed at preventing loss of data, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorised access.

The data is processed exclusively by personnel – primarily technical staff – authorised to process data, or by individuals authorised for occasional maintenance operations, in accordance with the principles of honesty, lawfulness, transparency, relevance and non-excessiveness with respect to the purposes of data collection and subsequent processing.

The personal data provided by users who register or use the services of the Municipality of Pienza’s website and provide information such as name, surname, residence, telephone numbers and email address, may be used for other processing operations compatible with the purposes of its collection, such as sending institutional and public utility communications via email.

The personal data of users who request documents or informational materials (newsletters, answers to queries, documents and measures, etc.) are only used to perform the requested service or provision and are only disclosed to third parties if necessary for this purpose (delivery services and similar).

Type and nature of the processed data

  • Browsing data

Access to the website involves the recording of data used solely to ensure proper operation.

This category of data includes: IP addresses and/or the domain names of computers used by users who connect to the website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses for the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to make the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response provided by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters regarding the operating system and the user’s computing environment.

This data is not collected for the purpose of associating it with identified individuals; however, by its nature, it could allow users to be identified through processing and association with data held by third parties, especially when it is necessary to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical cybercrimes against the website.

  • Data voluntarily provided by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of emails to the addresses indicated on the website’s various access channels and the completion of forms entail the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, which is necessary in order to reply to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

In such cases, the data acquired will be processed exclusively to respond to user requests – for example, regarding the use of a service, website connection issues, problems navigating to the website, problems accessing the website’s services or problems accessing the user’s account.

To better contextualize the request, users may be contacted via email, telephone, or other communication methods by an operator appointed by the Administration.

Specific summary information statements will be provided or displayed on the website pages dedicated to particular services upon request.

Obligation or option to provide data

Apart from what is specified for browsing data, the user is free to provide personal data in the request forms or otherwise indicated through contact with the Municipality of Pienza for the sending of communications or any documentation.

Failure to provide the data (e.g. personal details, email address, telephone number) necessary for providing the service, may make it impossible to obtain what is being requested.

Retention Period

The data will be retained for a period of time no longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected (“storage limitation principle”, Article 5 of the EU Regulation) or in accordance with the deadlines established by law.

Data Recipients

The data regarding the online service is not intended for third parties, nor is it subject to disclosure or distribution, unless otherwise mandated by law or regulatory requirements.

Data transfer abroad

The data is not transferred to third countries outside the European Economic Area
